The Espree MRI has more headroom than any MRI in the region, including those
referred to as "open MRIs." With the scanner opening increased to 27 inches in diameter and the magnet shortened to 49 inches the Espree helps alleviate the "tunnel feeling" that some patients may find confining.
According to Dr. Philip Benedetti of Medford Radiological Group, "What makes this system such a great leap forward is the combination of the enlarged and shortened scanning area (called the bore) with all of the advantages afforded by a true high-field MRI system, such as speed of imaging, high-resolution, and versatility."
